This year, SHHNY is delighted to announce that acclaimed author and National Book Award winner Jacqueline Woodson will give the morning keynote address. Additionally, in a two-part workshop series, eminent anti-racism educator Marc Dones will discuss the history of structural racism and homelessness and how to address it. As always, City and State commissioners will speak about homelessness and progress toward creating 35,000 supportive housing units over the next 15 years. The conference will also include multiple panels on strategies for housing development and finance and will feature nine panels on innovative programs and tools for direct service providers. And last but not least, the newly-appointed Health + Hospitals President Dr. Mitchell Katz will present on his work as Director of Los Angeles County Health Agency creating the county’s innovative Housing for Health program.
